Elsa has been in a coma for five months. With all hope of reviving her gone, her family must face the devastating fact that it might be time to turn off her life support. What they don’t know is that in the past few weeks Elsa has regained partial consciousness – she just has no way of telling them…’I’m Still Here’.

This book will bring all of the feels. All of the emotions. All of the love. All of the tears. But best of all, it’s written in such a way that keeps you on the edge of your seat like a brilliant blockbuster movie the WHOLE way through. A modern day Sleeping Beauty and a story about how love can happen in the strangest situations.

For any of you who know me…you’ll know I’m not a fan of books that flit here and there between characters BUT ‘I’m Still Here’ was different. The book tells the story of Elsa – a girl who has been in a coma for 5 months and Thibult – a young guy who is visiting his brother in hospital but finds himself in Elsa’s room whilst he was trying to reflect on his own family’s goings on at the hospital. Clélie Avit cleverly ends each chapter on a cliffhanger – whether it’s Thibult entering Elsa’s room or Elsa being able to hear her families every move in her room but she is unable to answer.

Throughout the book I was desperate for Elsa to move. Make a twitch or speak or SOMETHING so that Thibult would hear her. Would she finally wake up? Would they get this incredible happy ever after? I had to keep turning to read more and find out. I couldn’t wait. And without spoiling the ending…I know anyone reading this book will feel the same. It truly is a page turner.

I can’t believe it’s Clélie’s first book. I REALLY hope it will be the first of many. I love her style. A great chick-lit choice for a holiday or weekend read that will let your mind wander free.
